Photography resists linear time: it preserves what has passed while continually existing in the present of its viewers. This epistemic tension becomes the foundation of The Knowing Eye, a series of digitally manipulated works created from personal snapshot archives taken between 2011 and 2019 by Wimo Ambala Bayang. Moving between imagination and photographic truth, the series questions the belief in photography as an objective representation, while revealing the unstable nature of images in the digital age.
