Limunan / Invisibility
is a photographic series made in Semarang, Indonesia, exploring how places can become hidden from public view during processes of urban transformation and how what is temporarily concealed can gradually disappear from public attention and memory. The photographs depict sites undergoing change: a former university building replaced by a gas station that later became disused, and a traditional market closed during renovation, its everyday activities temporarily absent. Faint words such as DISAPPEARANCE, HIDDEN, and CAMOUFLAGE are embedded within the photographs as visual cues. Rather than functioning as captions, they point toward what is absent from the frame and the processes that make it invisible. They invite viewers to connect what they see with what they may remember, know, or imagine about a place and what has happened to it. The photographs do more than record what remains; they invite us to imagine what has disappeared from view.
