Musigi Geosigi / Bla Bla Bla Etcetera Etcetera
Musigi Geosigi / Bla Bla Bla Etcetera Etcetera is the title of an exhibition presenting Film Tanpa Film (Film Without Film), an ongoing project that began during my artist residency in Gwangju, South Korea. The project presents photographs as still images from films that never existed. Accompanied by subtitles or closed captions and the titles of imaginary films, each photograph offers only a fragment of a story that can never be seen in its entirety.Rather than illustrating a fictional story, the work explores how images can generate narratives beyond what they actually show, and how viewers fill their gaps with memory, expectation, and imagination. By withholding the film itself, the work shifts attention from what an image contains to what it makes us construct in its absence.
