Elsewhere
This series observes a contemporary world that remains materially intact, yet subtly displaced from itself. Airports function, landscapes endure, and museums display. Nothing has collapsed, and yet something is slightly out of register. Across these sites, a living presence appears—not as a character or allegory, but as a presence that does not fully settle into its surroundings. It does not perform or explain itself. It stands, occupies, and remains. The work moves between documentation and construction, allowing fiction to operate within familiar environments without announcing itself. Meaning unfolds through minor shifts and quiet inconsistencies. Rather than staging a crisis, the images attend to a restrained condition: a world that continues to operate, though never entirely at ease with its own continuity.
These photographs, paintings, and animations were exhibited at Ruang MES 56 in 2023 under the title "An Invitation to Put Yourself in My Shoes."
